This Patented Heat Defuser is a must for all Offset Firebox Smokers.  When installed under your cooking grates, this plate totally eliminates the "Hot Spot" associated with all brands of Offset Firebox Smokers.  It will help raise the temperatures near the smoke stack end of the smoker while lowering the temp at the firebox end.  Unlike some X-Brand heat plates,  Horizon's Convection Plate doesn't just move the hot spot over to a new location, it eliminates it.   You will find balanced temperatures over the entire length of you cooking chamber which will allow you to use the whole chamber and not just a portion of it.
